EMSODEV: European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and Water‐column Observatory Development
The overall objective of EMSODEV was to catalyze all operations of the EMSO ERIC Research Infrastructure for the development and installation of EGIM (EMSO Generic Instrument Module). EGIM provides accurate, complete, comparable and long-term measurements of the ocean parameters, which must meet social and scientific challenges such as climate change and marine hazards. This project has helped to increase the inter-operability of EMSO ERIC nodes and to collect all data in real time in one place.
-
Adoption of a common data acquisition, analysis and interpretation system necessary for a distributed infrastructure of pan-European importance;
-
The design and implementation of a state-of-the-art technological creation, a standardized multidisciplinary equipment, having a common and harmonized observation system;
-
Complete testing, calibration, validation and evaluation of the efficiency of this innovative module, thus ensuring its quality, durability and long-term reliability;
- Promoting the achievements, which are the results obtained within the project, and establishing a public-private partnership with the industry representatives and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)in order to achieve the technology transfer.
