The environmental geophysical and geo-archaeology research team conducts complex studies on non-destructive exploration of archaeological sites on land and in submerged areas, the study of pollution of aquifers with inorganic contaminants, the identification and location of buried objects (pipes, cables, tanks, walls, etc.), the evaluation of mineral resources (salt, marble), geophysical investigation of shallow drillings, as well as seismo-acoustic investigation of rivers and accumulation lakes.
Geophysical monitoring of carbon dioxide and energy geological storage sites is a special type of application, which is intended to bring new information on the geological and hydrogeological characteristics of the investigated structures.
The team’s activities include magnetometric and electrometric investigations on water and land, gravimetric and geodetic investigations, geo-radar and seismo-acoustic studies, investigation of shallow drilling using electric core, as well as magnetic susceptibility studies.
