DANS: Strategy and actions to prepare the national participation in the DANUBIUS–RI Project
Acronim: DANS
- Preparing the participation of Romania, as coordinator, in the development of the DANUBIUS-RI distributed pan-European infrastructure through the implementation of the Major Project of Structural Funds for the Romanian component of DANUBIUS-RI (Hub, Data Center and the Danube Delta Supersite).
- The development of the Romanian component of DANUBIUS-RI has the following effects: the in-depth study of the processes that influence the evolution of ecosystems in wetlands – river, delta/lagoon, coastal areas and the sea under the influence of rivers; the development of a knowledge-based economy that will support sustainable economic growth in the Danube – Danube Delta – Black Sea system, while protecting the biodiversity and the characteristic natural ecosystems; master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral programs in collaboration with universities across Europe; conferences, specialized training courses, workshops, summer schools, etc.; e-learning and ecological educational programs for the local communities;
- Analysis of the development stage of the DANUBIUS–RI distributed infrastructure and the correlation of the results with the definition of the Romanian components – Hub, Data Center and the Danube Delta Supersite;
- Feasibility analysis of these components and development of technical and economic documentation by carrying out specialized studies and analyzing the economic, social and environmental impact that the development of the Supersite and Central Nucleus components may have on the natural framework of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve;
- Development of the National Research, Development and Innovation Agenda taking into account the following: the priorities of the strategic agenda of the DANUBIUS–RI project, defined within DANUBIUS–PP; the capacity and development prospects of the Romanian scientific community in the context of the pan-European infrastructure DANUBIUS;
- Preparing the application for accessing the Structural Funds related to the construction of the Romanian components of DANUBIUS-RI (Hub, Data Center and Danube Delta Supersite), which consists of the development of the Conceptual Note, the Design Theme, the Feasibility Study and the Technical Execution Project; organizing working meetings with the members of the national and international scientific community in order to ensure the necessary technical and scientific support to scale the national agenda of RDI and to develop the Romanian components of DANUBIUS-RI;
- Organizing promotional/dissemination events in order to prepare the national and international scientific community for the efficient use of the DANUBIUS-RI distributed infrastructure; developing an e–management system for the exploitation of resources developed by the national scientific community;
