Adriana Constantinescu este geolog marin, cu un interes special în cercetarea fluxurilor sedimentare în zonele de tranziție fluviu-mare și în înțelegerea transportului sedimentar din bazinul fluviului și până la mare. Folosește date provenite de la sateliți pentru cercetarea zonelor de tranziție. Are o licenţă în Geologie (2009) și o diploma de master în Geofizică Aplicată (2013) de la Universitatea București şi o diplomă de master in Geoștiințele Mării de la Universitatea Britaniei Occidentale din Franța. În 2020 a finalizat lucrarea de doctorat la Universitatea Stirling din Marea Britanie, încercând sa descifrez evoluţia fluxurilor sedimentare ale Dunării în ultimul secol și efectul intervențiilor umane și al schimbărilor climatice din bazinul Dunării asupra evoluției sedimentare a Deltei Dunării şi şelfului de NV al Mării Negre. Participă, de asemenea, la dezvoltarea DANUBIUS-RI, proiect ESFRI (Centrul Internațional de Studii Avansate al Sistemelor Râu-Mare), fiind implicată în eforturile GeoEcoMar de concepere și construire a componentelor românești ale infrastructurii.
