UPGRADING OF THE EMSO-EUXINUS MARINE RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE
The project aimed to increase the environmental research capacity of GeoEcoMar as a public research institution by supporting it in two directions:
– by participating in the European research infrastructures (EMSO) according to the Roadmap approved by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructure (ESFRI)
– by upgrading the EMSO-EUXINUS infrastructure – which stands as a national special objective – being included in the 2017-2027 National Roadmap of research infrastructures of Romania and approved by Order of the Minister of Research and Innovation no. 624/03.10.2017.
a) Developing the existing capacities – both tangible and intangible assets (knowledge, professional training, etc.) of GeoEcoMar aiming to achieve the required level of technology to conduct marine research activities
b) Increasing the available solutions portfolio for all the stakeholders (private companies, environmental agencies, government institutions, etc.), making it available for implementation and further operations in both research and industrial projects or facilities.
c) Expanding and developing the existing marine research and training services portfolio of GeoEcoMar to reach and maintain the technological level required by the research, innovation and further educational activities.
d) Developing new directions of activity for GeoEcoMar thus increasing the opportunities for collaborations and partnerships with national and international research organizations, universities, companies and public institutions, consequently further expanding the GeoEcoMar strategic contribution to innovation and education.
