Acronim: GEOBIOECOMAR
The project involves geological, geochemical and sedimentological research of the coastal lakes in the south – Tashaul, Corbu, Siutghiol, Tabacariei, Agigea, Costinesti, Techirghiol, Tuzla, Tatlageac, Mangalia Swamp and Limanu Balta –, that are complex freshwater ecosystems in Romania that provide a wide spectrum of ecosystem services. Due to their high biological production and productivity, they are a huge reservoir of biodiversity, function as a natural biofilter and buffer zone, and are suppliers of natural goods.
- Sampling (water and sediments) and field measurements (batimetric, magnetometric) campaigns, laboratory analysis and determination (physico-chemical characteristics of waters, geochemical, lithological, granulometric, mineralogical characteristics of sediments, as well as the ecological status of the benthal populations), completed with reports (stage and final);
- Determination of analytical and synthetic ecological indices (number of species, density, abundance, diversity, spatial distribution, etc.), development of habitat distribution maps, sedimentological, bathymetric, magnetometric maps;
- Dissemination of the obtained results and their introduction into the database, in order to achieve an appropriate GIS system;
