The activity of the DANUBIUS-RI department has as main objective the coordination of all GeoEcoMar activities related to the preparation, realization and operation of DANUBIUS-RI.
The preparatory activities refer to the coordination and/or participation in the elaboration of the documentation and studies necessary for the construction of the Romanian components of DANUBIUS-RI – Hub of Murighiol, the Danube Delta Supersite and the Data Centre. These are: Fundamental note, Design Theme, Feasibility Study and Technical Execution Projects for Field Research Stations and Observation Points of the Danube Delta Supersite, geoscience laboratories within the Hub and the Data Centre.
During the construction phase, the DANUBIUS-RI Department will organize the procurement procedures for construction equipment and services for the Danube Delta Supersite and laboratory equipment specific to the field of geosciences for the Hub. The Department will pursue the fulfilment of DANUBIUS-RI’s commitments towards the other ESFRI infrastructures (ICOS, EPOS). The Department will also liaise with the external partners of DANUBIUS-RI and will contribute to the implementation of standardised infrastructure work procedures contained in DANUBIUS Commons.
In the operational phase, the department will implement the rules of transnational access to the Supersite and the Hub geoscience laboratories according to DANUBIUS-RI policies and will participate in their current management.
