PN18160101 – Evaluation of the impact of the global changes and anthropogenic interventions on the quality of the Danube environment, highlighting the morpho-sedimentological evolution of the Danube riverbed, focused on the sectors with navigation difficulties
Acronim: GEODEMAN
The project aimed at a comprehensive investigation of the Romanian sector of the Danube in order to substantiate the specific studies in the sectors with navigation difficulties. Its main objective was to study the critical areas for navigation: delimitation, morpho-sedimentary characterization, hydrodynamic processes, water and sediment balance, modeling, turbidity.
- The elaboration of geological, geo-ecological and biological studies in order to determine the morpho-sedimentological processes and anthropogenic impact by performing specific laboratory analyses on sediment samples taken at the water-sediment interface (bodengreifer), as well as from the deep water (carots);
- Determining the hydrodynamic changes in the riverbed by performing geophysical measurements (measurements to determine water flow rates and flow velocity, bathymetric measurements, turbidity measurements);
