MARE NIGRUM
The interdisciplinary and multipurpose marine research vessel ”MARE NIGRUM” is the central element of Romania’s marine research infrastructure, being unique at national level.
Due to its scientific facilities, ”Mare Nigrum” has a top position among the Black Sea research infrastructures. It was included by the Government Decision no.1428/2004 in the List of Special Installations and Objectives of national interest, remaining after a series of evaluations on the national list of Research Infrastructures of Strategic Importance.
ISTROS
The river and coastal research vessel “Istros”, fully upgraded in 2019, is an essential research infrastructure in GeoEcoMar’s scientific work.
HALMYRIS
The “Halmyris” laboratory houseboat was donated to GeoEcoMar by the Ministry of Defence in 1996. It is stationed by the Sf. Gheorghe Branch in Murighiol (Uzlina), Tulcea County. „Halmyris” was fully upgraded in 2016.
